One early morning in June 1948, I awoke to the vibrant presence of several close guides and excitement in the air. Intuitively I knew that an out-of-body projection was scheduled, and I was ready to go. By now I had learned that there was an area of voluntary trust that involved no fears, so I relax, I release and let go.
I could not see my guides, but I could feel them working as they shaped energy around me in preparation for the thrust. There was a quiet sinking stillness that surrounded me. I could feel my guide attaching something right behind my neck. I was released from my body and felt myself floating loosely above it just a few inches. Then I noticed that I was moving and began to go increasingly faster.
This sensation was followed by stillness, like being inside an incredibly silent empty space of void. Then came a soft tug at my shoulder and I was brought gently to a standing position. I looked around me and found that I was standing on a rather small ledge of rock projecting out into space, and I was facing one of the great natural wonders of the world: Niagara Falls.
From my vantage point I could see the iridescent interplay of colors shifting hues, and patterns bouncing off the mist amid the incessant roar of water cascading into the chasm below. I could sense the dampness in the breeze racing across my face. The genuine realism was startling! Looking directly above me I could glimpse portions of guardrails surrounding this particular place. I took mental note of my position in relation to the area in general.
My return to the physical body was instantaneous. I simply opened my eyes and I was home. Some day, I thought, I will return to Niagara Falls and test my senses to this most wonderful and exciting event in my adventures.
Two weeks later the visit to New York was realized. The guardrail was there. Looking down the steep precipitous setting, I could see some thirty feet below me, the very ledge I had been standing on. I studied it with care and deep interest, for there it stood transcending any shadow of doubt. My first visit to the great Niagara Falls was not only unique; it was clearly a matter of Astral Projection.
